On Tuesday April 8th in New Zealand Prince George had his first royal engagement. It was a success except for making one little girl cry after he grabbed her. The event took place at the Blundell Room at the Goverment House in Wellington. This event was meant to be a less formal one, to introduce the young Prince into his roll as future King of England in a less formal setting. 10 first time parents, whose children were born within weeks before and after the young Prince’s birth, were invited to the event where they would be able to trade anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of being first time parents.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a now sold out clack and white knitted dress by Tory Burch and the colors were chosen to honor the colors in the New Zealand flag. She also wore a BCartier Ballon Bleu watch while holding the young Prince on her hip. Prince George wore a navy smocked overalls that featured a sailboat on the front by British designer Rachel Riley. The young Prince is clearly teething as he took a lock of his mother’s famous hair and started gnawing on it and same with any toys that he got a hold of. Also present with the Cambridge’s was their new Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa.
