The Duchess Wears Blue on Valentine’s Day

, , , , , , , , ,

Yesterday in London, the Duchess of Cambridge attended an event for the opening of The ICAP Art Room at Northolt High. She wore a royal blue dress by L.K. Bennett and black suede heels by the same brand. Her diamond drop earrings were by jewelry designer Kiki McDonough. The weather was fairly windy and the Duchess’s hair was constantly flying in the breeze. This brings up the argument that she wither needs to get a shorter haircut or start doing her hair in a style that won’t become so unruly in windy weather conditions.

Meanwhile both Prince William and Prince Harry who joined the Household Calvary  in Datchet to help with defending properties from the flooding of the Thames.

The Duchess and the Queen’s Necklace

, , , , , , , , ,

On Wednesday night the Duchess of Cambridge attended an event at the National Portrait Gallery. She wowed in a ink-blue Jenny Packham dress that had a velvet ribbon belt that she has decided to wear for a second time. The first time she wore it was back in October for an event at Kensington Palace, this time she accessorized the dress with a loan from the Queen. She wore the Queen’s Coronation necklace.

Since the Queen has loaned her another piece of jewelry from her private collection it does seem like the Queen has decided  that the Duchess needs to regalize her look. The Queen is wanting her to wear longer dresses and skirts, so that there is no repeat of her Marilyn moments like she had while on tour in Canada, more couture and less highstreet with the help of the Queen’s dress Angela Kelly, and to wear more tiaras.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the annual Christmas mass in Sandringham with the rest of the royal family.

When leaving the Church once that mass was over Kate collected several of bouquets from well-wishers along with answering the question on everyone’s mind, “Where was Prince George?” The answer was that he was back at the house with his nanny. It seemed like he really enjoyed Christmas, but was more interested in the wrapping paper than the actual presents. At the church the Duchess wore a green and blue tartan coat by Alexander McQueen and a green felt hat by Gina Foster, and her go to black sueded heeled boots.

But for the private church service earlier in the day. The Duchess was seen curtseying to the Queen. She wore a cream coat, with a red tartan shawl, and black gloves.

In the Queen’s yearly Christmas address she talked about the newest addition to the family and what hope that it brings. She also showed never before seen footage of the christening.

Earlier last week, the Duchess of Cambridge attended a white tie affair at Buckingham Palace. Although no pictures from the event have been made public, we do have some images that were taken by paparazzi of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their way to Buckingham Palace from Kensington Palace. The Duchess wore a high neck white lace gown by Alexander McQueen, with her hair pulled back in a half up half down style and a tiara that used to belong to Princess MArgaret. IT is believed that the Queen loaned the tiara to the Duchess. This is the first time since her wedding that the Duchess of Cambridge has worn a tiara.

Last night the Duchess of Cambridge left baby Prince George with her husband while she attended a charity ball in Central London last night benefitting Sports Aid. She wore an elegant, knee length dress by Alice Temperley with  black Jimmy Choo shoes, and a bright red clutch. It appears that the Duchess of Cambridge recently got a hair cut and her hair is a couple shades darker than the last time we saw her.
