Congrats to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who just announced earlier today in London that they were expecting their second child to be born next year. As with her first pregnancy, the Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from acute morning sickness but is being treated for it by Doctors at Kensington Palace. Like her pregnancy with George the couple had to announce the pregnancy before the crucial 12 week stage. Congratulations again to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George about the newest addition to their family.

The Cambridge’s Say Goodbye to Australia

Today the Cambridge’s said goodbye to Australia and are on  their way back to England finishing off their 19 day tour. The royal couple spent their last day in Australia attending an Anzac Day service of remembrance. Upon waving good-bye the young prince did not look very happy at all. He wore a red cardigan, white shirt, red and white stripe shorts, white socks and black shoes. The Duchess wore a navy and white dress and had removed the navy hat that she wore earlier in the day at the remembrance service and navy suede heels.

Throughout the 19 day tour, the Duchess of Cambridge has wowed with her fashion choices and making sure that they met the need of the event she was attending. Although she only wore one Australian designer and one New Zealand jewelry designer, she showed just how powerful she is in the clothing choices she makes not just for herself but for Prince George as well.

On Saturday April 12th, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a jade green wool Allie coat by Erdem. When talking with a local who complimented the Duchess on the coat, Kate replied that Prince William was not a fan for he thought it was a bit bright. They were visiting Hamilton which is south of New Zealand’s North Island. They had an action packed day where Prince William headed to Pacific Aerospace and the Duchess headed to Rainbow Place Children’s Hospice.

The Duchess Wins the Race

On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their tour of New Zealand with a visit to Auckland. This time during the rain, Prince William made sure that his wife did not get a single drop of water on her, unlike on Wednesday. The Duke was so excited to see the planes that he forgot that he was shielding his wife as well from the rain.

For this visit the Duchess went back to one of her favorite outfits that she has been seen in twice before. She wore a nautical navy striped shirt by Me + Em, skinny jeans, navy corked wedges, and a navy double breasted blazer by Ralph Lauren. She later changed to deck shoes and put on a baseball cap and pulled her hair into a pony tail when racing against her husband in a yacht race.

They also received a gift for Prince George, it was a miniature boat made by Sealegs. The royal couple looked slightly confused when the gift was unveiled but were gracious on receiving the gift. I’m not sure why an almost 1 year-old needs a small motorized boat, but that’s just me.

Prince George’s First Royal Engagement

On Tuesday April 8th in New Zealand Prince George had his first royal engagement. It was a success except for making one little girl cry after he grabbed her. The event took place at the Blundell Room at the Goverment House in Wellington. This event was meant to be a less formal one, to introduce the young Prince into his roll as future King of England in a less formal setting. 10 first time parents, whose children were born within weeks before and after the young Prince’s birth, were invited to the event where they would be able to trade anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of being first time parents.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a now sold out clack and white knitted dress by Tory Burch and the colors were chosen to honor the colors in the New Zealand flag. She also wore a BCartier Ballon Bleu watch while holding the young Prince on her hip. Prince George wore a navy smocked overalls that featured a sailboat on the front by British designer Rachel Riley. The young Prince is clearly teething as he took a lock of his mother’s famous hair and started gnawing on it and same with any toys that he got a hold of. Also present with the Cambridge’s was their new Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa.

On Monday the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with baby George and the rest out their party arrived in New Zealand after a short layover in Australia due to weather. The Duchess of Cambridge wore her hair in a half up half down style with a red pill box hat by Gina Foster, her hair was extremely wind tossed due to the windy day. Her red double breasted Catherine Walker coat is very similar to the one that the late Princess Diana wore on a visit to the country. Prince George looked adorable in cream cardigan over white shorts with cream leather shoes and white socks. Prince William wore a navy suit.

Over the next couple of weeks the royal family will be attending different functions in both Australia and New Zealand.
