Today kicked off the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal tour of the Far East a continuation of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Things for the couple got off to a slightly bumpy start with their flight being 30 minutes behind schedule but that did not show as they excited their plane and headed to the national Orchid Garden where they both received an orchid named after the both of them and also go to see the Diana Memorial Orchid. Diana was just 2 weeks away from seeing this orchid named after, but she died in Paris in a tragic car crash.
The Duchess wore a kimono inspired dress by Jenny Packham that had orchid motifs on the dress. She would later change into a beautiful print dress for dinner at the Prime Minister’s home, the dress was designed by Singapore-born Prabul Gurung. On this trip Kate brought her new hairdresser along, Amanda Cook. The couple will be in Singapore for three days and then move with the Royal Tour.
Meanwhile Prince Harry, everyone’s favorite naughty prince is back in Afghanistan and is expected to complete his military duty in January. Although this may not happen for Harry may be sent home due to threats of kidnapping and assassination by the Taliban. Only time will tell if Harry will be coming home early like he did on his last tour of duty. I wish Harry and all the other military men and women safety as they fight in this war to protect us. Also a remembrance to all those who have died.
